How do we set up an automatic email notification to be sent once a signer successfully signs a document in DRTE?

Published on October 3, 2026 DRTE

DRTE supports both built-in automatic delivery for completed documents and custom email alerts configured via standard Salesforce Flows.
Option 1: Built-in Auto-Delivery (Out-of-the-Box)
  1. Automatic Delivery to Signers: Once all required signatures are placed, DRTE automatically updates the request status to Completed (isSigned = True) and dispatches the final executed PDF via email to all participating parties.
  2. Certificate of Completion (CoC) Auto-Email: If using the Certificate of Completion add-on, setting the Trigger Send Email property to True on the packaged ESignatureDocumentRequest platform event automatically emails the signed document along with its audit log.
Option 2: Custom Internal Notifications (Salesforce Flow)
If you need to alert internal stakeholders (e.g., the Sales Rep, Opportunity Owner, or Legal Team) the moment a signature is applied:
  1. Create a Record-Triggered Flow:
  2. Object: E Signature Request
  3. Trigger: When a record is updated
  4. Entry Condition: isSigned Equals True (or Status Equals Completed), set to run "Only when a record is updated to meet the condition requirements".
  5. Add an Email Action:
  6. Add a Send Email action or invoke a Salesforce Email Alert targeting the record owner or specific team members.
  7. Recommended Setting (Async Path):
  8. Place the email action on an Async Processing / Scheduled Path in Flow Builder to ensure background document generation finishes smoothly without affecting native performance.
