How can we configure a document template so the "Date Signed" is automatically captured upon submission instead of requiring the signer to manually enter a date?

You do not need to prompt the signer for a date entry. DRTE automatically captures and records the exact date and timestamp upon submission through multiple built-in mechanisms:
1. Automatic Signature Stamp Timestamp (Out-of-the-Box)
  1. Composite Signature Image: Whenever a recipient applies their signature, the DRTE rendering engine automatically embeds a composite signature stamp onto the PDF.
  2. Built-In Date/Time: This stamp automatically displays the signer's printed name, drawn signature, and the exact GMT date and time of execution (e.g., 2026-01-08 11:18 GMT) directly beneath the signature line.
2. Backend Audit Log Timestamps
  1. Record Tracking: The exact moment the document is signed is automatically logged in the Request Signed On field on the E-Signature Request record and the DateTimeText field on the E-Signature Log child record.
  2. Legal Compliance: These timestamps are bundled into the Certificate of Completion (CoC) audit trail to guarantee non-repudiable legal proof of execution.
