Release Notes of LPG v1.11

Lightning PDF Generator (LPG) v1.11 introduces a visual way to configure the Download PDF/Image button, removing the need to hand-write component indices or CSS selectors.

What's New

S-32: Interactive Modal Selector for Download PDF/Image Button Configuration
Admins can now open an interactive modal from the button's setup, preview the page layout live, and point and click to choose the download target. The selector is generated automatically.

Key Highlights

Output Behavior

SettingResult
downloadAsImage = false (default)Produces a PDF using the existing PDF renderer.
downloadAsImage = trueProduces image file(s) through the same capture pipeline as PDF. PNG by default, or JPG when imageFormat is "jpg" / "jpeg".
insertPageBreaks = true (Separate Each Component)PDF places each component on its own page. Images download one file per component (<name>-1.png, <name>-2.png, ...).
insertPageBreaks = falseAll components flow continuously into a single PDF or a single combined image.

Good to Know

  • The modal is launched from the button's Select Target Visually setup action, not from the runtime download click.
  • The modal loads a live DOM preview. Components that are hidden, empty, or cross-origin inaccessible are skipped with a console warning.
  • The clicked node is translated into a robust selector (or component display index) that survives page reflow.
  • When multiple image files are downloaded, they are paced about 400 ms apart so the browser accepts every file.

Not Included

  • Changes to Salesforce page layouts or component definitions.
  • Capturing content from cross-origin iframes the preview cannot read.
  • Server-side rendering. All output is generated client-side in the browser.
