How to Bulk Load Timeline Libraries into QuoteX
Question: We have about 20 standard project timelines in spreadsheets, each with phases by week, roles, and hours per role per week. We'd like to load them into QuoteX as Timeline Libraries so our sales team can reuse them. Is there a template or a recommended way to bulk load these, including the resource hours, instead of building each one in the UI?
Answer: Yes, you can bulk load these. We have a template workbook with one sheet per object, wired together with lookups, so you only type each piece of data once.
How the Data Is Structured
| Object | API Name | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Timeline Library | psce__PSC_Timeline_Library__c | The container. Timeline Name, Frequency (for example Weekly) and Mode (FixedFee or T&M) are required. |
| Library Period | psce__PSC_Timeline_Library_Period__c | One row per week or month, with a phase name and order. |
| Library Resource | psce__PSC_Timeline_Library_Resource__c | One row per role on the timeline. Links to your PSC Rate Card, which is where role, level and cost come from. |
| Library Resource Allocation | psce__PSC_Timeline_Library_Resource_Allocation__c | Holds the hours for one resource in one period. |
Tip: Load each Timeline Library as Draft until you have reviewed it. Suggested name pattern: <delivery mode>-<fee range>-<number of weeks>-<timeline name>.
How to Use the Template
- Optionally paste your Rate Card Ids, roles and levels into the reference sheet.
- Fill in the Timeline Library, Period and Resource sheets, then load them in that order. After each load, paste the returned Salesforce Ids back into the sheet.
- Type your hours into the grid, with resources down the side and periods across the top. The workbook turns the grid into one Allocation row per resource and period, so you do not build those by hand.
- Filter to the rows with hours above zero and load them.

Before You Load
Important: Disable triggers and rules before the load and enable them again after the load, as shown in the screenshot below.
Disable triggers and rules before loading, then re-enable them afterwards.
Tips
- Allocations must reference an existing Resource and Period, so do not load them until the earlier levels are done.
- Try one timeline in a sandbox first. Confirm the totals, rates and costs look right before loading all 20.
- Keep libraries in Draft until reviewed, and archive old ones rather than deleting.
