Installation and Setup

Prerequisites

• This add-on package requires PSC QuoteX version 1.75 or higher to be installed.
• An active license for PSC QuoteX is necessary to install this add-on. If you do not have an active license, installation will not be possible.
• If you have an active license but your current version of PSC QuoteX is below 1.75, you must upgrade to version 1.75 or higher before you can install this add-on.

With the installation URL provided, you now have 15 days to set up and trial the package. Use this URL to proceed with the installation.

• Open the installation URL in your browser.
• Log in to the Salesforce org where you want to install the package.
• Select Install for All Users to apply the package with a sitewide license.
• Check the box for I acknowledge... since this managed package is not listed on AppExchange.
• Click Install to complete the process.

After successful installation, configure QuoteX to unlock its full capabilities.

Field Level Security

• Provide read and edit Access to this new field on Quote Object, Applied Promotion (psce_ext__Applied_Promotion__c) custom field.

Configure the Smart Promotions Tab.

• Open the PSC Additional Schedule Tab custom metadata type.
• Add a new record to include the Promotion tab.
• Set the value for the Lightning Component field to "psce_ext:PSC_ApplyPromotionCode".
• This ensures that the component dynamically loads in the Timeline view as a new tab.

Configure the "PSC Timeline Discount Setting" Custom Metadata

• Open the PSC Timeline Discount Setting custom metadata records.
• You will see two records—one for TM (Time & Material) and another for Fixed Fee.
• Update the Discount Level field to either Timeline Level Discount Only or Both, as needed.

That's it! You’re done commissioning the Smart Promotions.

Setting Up Smart Promotions

To configure Smart Promotions, follow these steps:

Step 1: Add the Promotions Tab

• Navigate to the Pre-Sales Cloud Admin App (or the App Launcher in general).
• Add the Promotions Tab to ensure it is visible to users. This allows users to update promotions and define rules directly within the app.

Step 2: Create a New Promotion Record

• Define Promotion Details:
• Code: Enter a unique promotion code.
• Discount Type: Select either Percentage or Fixed Amount.
• Discount Value:
• For Percentage, enter the discount percentage.
• For Fixed Amount, enter the numerical discount value.
• Start Date, End Date, and Usage: These fields are placeholders for future updates and currently have no functionality.
• Status: Set the status to Active or Inactive. Only Active promotions will appear in the Promotions Tab for users.
• Description: Provide a clear description of the promotion, which will be displayed on the user screen.

Step 3: Define Promotion Rules

Once the promotion code and status are defined, configure the rules that determine when the promotion is applicable to a timeline. Supported conditional rules include:

• Total Calculated Fees >
• Start Date ≤ Next Quarter
• As_Sold_Margin >
• Blended Rate ≥
• Offshore_Hours % ≥
• Nearshore Blend >
• Offshore Blend >
• Billable Cost >
• Non-Billable Cost <
• Offshore Hours >
• Nearshore Hours >
• Billable T&E >
• Total Resource Hours >

These rules can be used in combination to define conditions for promotions or discounts.

Now, Let’s see how it works:

Step 4: Applying Promotions to a Timeline

• Navigate to the Timeline and select the Promotions Tab.
• Search and select a promotion code from the available list, or manually type the promo code into the input field.

• Click Apply Promotion.
• If the promotion is applicable, a success message will be displayed.
• If not, you will be prompted to try another promo code.

• Click Refresh to update the screen and display the applied discount along with the promo code.

Step 5: Verify the Applied Discount

• On the Overview Tab, you will see the applied promo code and the corresponding additional discount reflected on your timeline.

This streamlined process ensures efficient management of promotions, enabling your team to apply discounts seamlessly while maintaining accuracy and profitability.
