Drafting and Configuring a Quote
| 💡 | Tip A PSC Quote is the specific record where project scope and resource timelines are combined to generate a formal estimate. Each quote is housed within a Quote Request (QR), allowing for various versioning and scenario planning. |
- After you have created a new QR or selected an existing one from the Quote Requests tab, click ‘Create Quote.’
- Give your quote a name.
- The ‘Owner’ is the sales engineer who is creating the quote. You can change the owner on the header row of the QR.
- The ‘Date Scoped’ defaults to today’s date. Change the date by clicking the calendar icon.
| Note: On the Create Quote form, the currency selected is your default currency. Once the quote is saved, the currency cannot be changed. |
5. The Opportunity and Account populate from the QR.
6. The description of the quote will populate from the associated QR. You can modify the description any time during the quotation process.
7. Save your quote.
Configuration & Risk
| • | Linked Data: The Opportunity and Account fields are automatically populated from the parent Quote Request. |
| • | Description: The project description also pulls from the QR, but you can modify it at any time during the quotation process to better reflect specific scenario details. |
Building the Estimate
After saving the basic Quote record, you must attach a Scope and a Timeline:
Action Menu: Use the action menu within the Quote to create or link an LOE (Scope) and a Timeline.
Dynamic Totals: As you add scopes and resources, the header component will dynamically update.
Header Metrics
| Total Fees The gross amount calculated. | Discount Amt Any applied reductions. | Net Fees The final price to the customer. |
| ASM The current As Sold Margin percentage. | Total Hours The cumulative effort required across all roles and phases. |
