1. PSC Platform User Permission Set Documentation
Purpose
This document provides an overview of the PSC Platform User permission set. It is designed for users who do not require a full Salesforce Sales Cloud license but contribute to quoting processes. By using this permission set, organizations can assign cost-effective platform licenses to users who don’t work with Sales objects but still play a role in managing quotes.
Overview
The PSC Platform User permission set grants tailored access to Salesforce applications and configurations required for quoting and estimation activities within the org. This approach enables cost savings while ensuring users have the tools they need to perform their roles effectively.
Intended Users
This permission set is suitable for:
- Team Members Contributing to Quotes: Users who assist in quoting activities but do not need access to Sales objects like Opportunities or Leads.
- Cost-Saving Roles: Users who need limited Salesforce access and can function effectively with a platform license.
- Quoting and Estimation Contributors: Individuals who manage quotes, scopes, and timelines without broader Sales Cloud functionality.
Assigning the Permission Set
- Navigate to Setup > Users > Permission Sets.
- Select PSC Platform User.
- Click Manage Assignments.
- Add users or profiles that require this level of access.
Note: This permission set is ideal for users whose access needs are restricted to quoting processes, providing a cost-efficient alternative to full Salesforce licenses.
2. PSC Customer Portal User Permission Set Documentation
Purpose
This document provides an overview of the PSC Customer Portal User permission set. It is designed for external users such as vendors, customers, or other collaborators who interact with the Salesforce system through community portals. This permission set enables these users to contribute to quoting, collaboration, and other related activities without requiring full Salesforce licenses.

Assigning the Permission Set

3. PSC Subject Matter Expert (PSC SME)
Purpose
This document provides an overview of the PSC SME permission set. It is designed for subject matter experts with standard user profile such as functionality SMEs, a particular cloud SME, or other collaborators who interact with the Salesforce system to define libraries, plan templates and staffing rules.

It supports activities such as defining scope libraries, timeline libraries, resource plan templates, staffing rules/bend rates and contributing to quotes, timelines, and other relevant processes while maintaining cost efficiency by leveraging Salesforce licenses.
Intended Users
This permission set is suitable for:
- SMEs: Subject matter experts in the organization.
Assigning the Permission Set
- Navigate to Setup > Users > Permission Sets.
- Select PSC SME.
- Click Manage Assignments.
- Add users or profiles that require this level of access.
4. PSC Solution Engineer (PSC SE)
Purpose
This document provides an overview of the PSC SE permission set. It is designed for daily users of QuoteX with standard user profile such as sales engineers, solution engineers, pre-sales engineers, project managers architects, or other collaborators who interact with the Salesforce system to quote services deals.

- Standard User
- Standard User (include Run Flows checked)

It supports activities such contributing to quotes, timelines, and other relevant processes while maintaining cost efficiency by leveraging Salesforce licenses.

This permission set is suitable for:
- SEs: Solution Engineers (Solution Architects) in the organization.
Assigning the Permission Set
- Navigate to Setup > Users > Permission Sets.
- Select PSC SE.
- Click Manage Assignments.
- Add users or profiles that require this level of access.
Installation and Setup
Prerequisites
- This add-on package requires QuoteX version 1.75 or higher to be installed.
- An active license for QuoteX is necessary to install this add-on. If you do not have an active license, installation will not be possible.
- If you have an active license but your current version of QuoteX is below 1.75, you must upgrade to version 1.75 or higher before you can install this add-on.
Installation Guide
Version: Extended PermissionSets ver 0.2;
Use this Install Now to proceed with the installation.
- Open the installation URL in your browser.
- Log in to the Salesforce org where you want to install the package.
- Select Install for All Users to apply the package with a sitewide license.
- Check the box for I acknowledge... since this managed package is not listed on AppExchange.
- Click Install to complete the process.
