Introduction
The Fee Allocation and Percentage Calculation feature allows users to effortlessly calculate and apply a percentage of total project fees as an additional fee under "Other Costs." This feature is ideal for scenarios where organizations need to add fees—such as technology fees, licensing fees, or administrative charges—over and above the core project costs. It ensures precise fee calculations, streamlining billing processes while maintaining transparency with customers.

Installation and Setup
Prerequisites
- This add-on package requires PSC QuoteX version 1.75 or higher to be installed.
- An active license for PSC QuoteX is necessary to install this add-on. If you do not have an active license, installation will not be possible.
- If you have an active license but your current version of PSC QuoteX is below 1.75, you must upgrade to version 1.75 or higher before you can install this add-on.
Ensure you have active licenses of this feature, purchased.
Setup & Configure
After successful installation, you just need to follow few steps and you are ready to use Add-On feature 'Apply Percent of Total'.
1. Update User Profile or Permission Set
Ensure that your user profile or permission set has read and edit access to the newly added fields in the Timeline Other Cost object with the namespace psce_ext. Refer to the screenshot below to verify the fields and permissions.
2. Create a New Record in the PSC Other Costs Object
- Navigate to the PSC Other Costs object.
- Create a new record to map it as the Percent of Total in Timeline Other Costs.
- After creating the record, copy the Salesforce Record ID of the newly created record.
- For example, you could name the record Technology Fees, but you can use any name that suits your business needs, such as Administrative Fees, Tip 10%, or others.
3. Update the PSC Percent of Total Custom Setting
- Go to Custom Settings and find the PSC Percent Of Total setting.
- Add the Salesforce Record ID (copied from Step 2) as the organization-level value.
- Specify a default percentage value for the Percent of Total (POT) that will pre-fill in the Apply Percent of Total screen.
Configure the Apply Percent of Total Tab
- Open the PSC Additional Schedule Tab custom metadata type.
- Add a new record to include the Apply Percent of Total tab.
- Set the value for the Lightning Component field to "psce_ext:PSC_PercentOfTotal".
- This ensures that the component dynamically loads in the Timeline view.
5. Setup Completion
You’re done with the setup!
How Users Will See and Use the Feature
Once the setup is complete, users will see a new tab named Apply Percent of Total in each Timeline. Here’s how they can use it:
- 1) Open the Apply Percent of Total tab.
- 2) Select one of the following options:
- Total Resources Fees
- Total Other Costs Fees
- Both
- 3) Enter the desired percentage and click Apply.
The feature will calculate the Percent of Total and automatically add it to the Other Costs tab in the same Timeline.
To verify:
- Navigate to the Other Costs tab.
- Confirm that the Technology Fee (or the name you chose) has been added with no vendor cost but with the calculated percentage (e.g., 3% of Total Fee) applied.
With this, the Percent of Total has been successfully applied and reflected in the Timeline.
