Resource Filter by Practice and Region

Introduction:

The Resource Filter by Practice & Region add-on for QuoteX enhances the resource selection experience by allowing users to filter resources in the resource typeahead search based on their Practice(s) and Region(s). This feature provides more granular control, enabling users to quickly find the right resources based on organizational hierarchy and geographical location.

Installation and Setup

Prerequisites

• This add-on package requires PSC QuoteX version 1.75 or higher to be installed.
• An active license for PSC QuoteX is necessary to install this add-on. If you do not have an active license, installation will not be possible.
• If you have an active license but your current version of PSC QuoteX is below 1.75, you must upgrade to version 1.75 or higher before you can install this add-on.

With the installation URL provided, you now have 15 days to set up and trial the package. Use this URL to proceed with the installation.

• Open the installation URL in your browser.
• Log in to the Salesforce org where you want to install the package.
• Select Install for All Users to apply the package with a sitewide license.
• Check the box for I acknowledge... since this managed package is not listed on AppExchange.
• Click Install to complete the process.

After successful installation, configure QuoteX to unlock its full capabilities.

Configure the Filter Resources Tab.

• Open the PSC Additional Schedule Tab custom metadata type.
• Add a new record to include the Filter Resources tab.
• Set the value for the Lightning Component field to "psce_ext:PSC_FilterRateCardContainer".
• This ensures that the component dynamically loads in the Timeline view as a new tab.

How It Works

• Navigate to the new Resource Filter tab within QuoteX.
• Select one or more Practices and Regions from the available dropdown options.
• The system will automatically include child Practices and Regions under the selected parent filters.
• When searching for resources in the typeahead field on the Resources Tab, only resources matching the selected filters will be displayed.

Note: Rate Cards/Resources that do not have a practice or region assigned will always be displayed, irrespective of the applied filters.

Screen Flow Steps for Resource Filtering on Timeline View

Access Tab Filter:

Navigate to the Timeline View and open the newly added Filter Resources tab.

Filter by Practice:

Search for a practice from the available list and select one. For example, select AWS AI from the list.

Filter by Region:

Search for a region and select it. For example, choose USA from the list.

Filtered Resource Selection:

Go to the Resources tab and observe that only rate cards matching the selected AWS AI practice and USA region are available for selection.

Default State (No Filters Applied):

If no practice or region is selected, all available rate cards will be shown by default.

Clear Filters Behavior:

In the default state, without any filters applied, the entire list of rate cards remains visible without restrictions.
