Set Up and Use the Home Carousel Banner

Phase 1: Configuring Carousel Items

Before adding the banner to your page, you must define the content for each slide using Custom Metadata Types.

  1. Access Custom Metadata: Navigate to the "PSC Carousel Banner Item" setup page.
  2. Define Item Details:
    1. Label/Name: Give the slide a clear title (e.g., Quick Verification: Port).
    2. App Name Filter: Assign a filter name (e.g., 3-Slide Quick Fix) to group specific slides together.
    3. Display Order: Assign a numerical value to determine the sequence of the slides.
  3. Add Content & Tips:
    1. Body Content: Enter the technical instructions or summary of the issue.
    2. Actionable Tip: Provide a specific "pro-tip" or question the agent should ask the customer.
  4. Link Resources:
    1. Add Button Labels and URLs (e.g., "Watch Demo") to link to external training videos or documentation.
  5. Repeat: Create additional items for the carousel (e.g., Critical Alignment, Proper Reassembly).

Phase 2: Adding the Banner to Case Records

Once your items are configured, you need to make the banner visible to your agents.

  1. Open Lightning App Builder: Navigate to a Case Record Page and select "Edit Page."
  2. Deploy Component: Drag the Home Carousel Banner component from the left-hand menu onto your page layout.
  3. Apply Filters:
    1. In the component settings, find the App Name field.
    2. Enter the filter name you created in Phase 1 (e.g., 3-Slide Quick Fix). This ensures only relevant slides appear for this specific case type.
  4. Save & Activate: Click Save and ensure the page is activated for your users.

Phase 3: Using the Banner for Case Resolution
