Submitting a New Quote Request (QR)

PSC Quote Requests (QR) serve as the formal container for project estimations. They link an Opportunity to one or more project timelines, allowing sales and delivery teams to track multiple scoping scenarios and synchronize the preferred estimate back to Salesforce.

The ‘New Quote Request’ screen is organised into 6 sections. The Quotes Summary , ‘Travel and Other Costs', ‘Resource Hours,’ are calculated readonly fields. From the PSC Quote Request tab, select and edit any Quote Requests with new values.

The quote summary fields automatically populate whenever any changes happen in the timeline of the primary quote.

ℹ Note
The currency of the Quote Request (QR) will vary based on the currency of the primary quote. Although it is not advisable to alter the currency after creating the QR, the summary fields synchronize based on the QR status configured in the settings on the PSC Setup page within the Pre Sales Cloud Admin App.

Managing Multiple Timelines

A single Quote Request can house multiple project timelines (e.g., a "10-week" option vs. a "14-week" option).

  1. One timeline must be designated as the Primary Quote.
  2. The financial data from the Primary Quote is what synchronizes to the Quote Request summary fields.

Financial Summary & Synchronization

The Quote Request features a series of read-only summary fields that provide a high-level financial overview.

  1. Automatic Updates: Summary fields (like Total Fees, ASM, and Total Hours) automatically populate whenever changes are made to the timeline of the Primary Quote.
  2. Currency Logic: The currency of the Quote Request is driven by the Primary Quote. While you generally should not change the currency manually after creation, the system ensures they stay aligned.
  3. Status-Based Sync: Summary fields synchronize based on the QR Status configured in the PSC Setup page. For example, syncing might only occur once the status reaches "Proposal/Price Quote."
